The Division of Bariatric/GI Surgery of the Department of Surgery at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry located at Highland Hospital is seeking a board certified/eligible academic general surgeon to join the division at an Assistant/Associate Professor level. The division currently consists of 3 faculty members with a scope of practice spanning all aspects of bariatric/GI/General surgery.

The U of R is located in Rochester, New York and is surrounded by world class culture, affordable housing and nationally ranked public schools. The City of Rochester is a mecca for the arts: home to a philharmonic orchestra, wonderful museums including the Strong National Museum of Play, internationally recognized dance companies as well as The Eastman School of Music. The Rochester International Jazz Festival is one of the top 10 Jazz festivals in the nation. The region boasts access to great watersports both on Lake Ontario as well as the Finger Lakes. The Finger Lakes region is also home to many internationally known wineries. Rochester has a rich history and was the last step on the underground railroad and the place Frederick Douglas called home. It is also the location of the Susan B. Anthony House making Rochester the epicenter of the woman’s suffrage movement.
