The Wilmot Cancer Center at the University of Rochester Medical Center is seeking a full-time Genetic Counselor.

The newly developed Hereditary Cancer Program at the Wilmot Cancer Center is looking to add a Genetic Counselor to our multidisciplinary team. Cancer patients and their families will meet with the Genetic Counselor for genetic counseling, pre-testing counseling, and results visits. Other duties include community outreach, teaching, support groups, program development, and growth. This is an exciting time of growth and expansion for cancer genetics and the Hereditary Cancer Program at the Wilmot Cancer Center.

Teaching, both of patients, residents and other learners will be expected. The Genetic Counselor would be required to take significant role with SMD teaching programs, as well as incorporation of educational training of providers at the bedside and/or in the classroom setting.

Candidates with M.S degree in genetic counseling, who are Board Certified/Board eligible by the NSGC are encouraged to apply. Interested candidates are encouraged to contact: Dr. Michelle Shayne, Associate Professor Hematology/Oncology at Michelle_Shayne@URMC.Rochester.edu
