Provide analysis, troubleshooting, design, implementation, training and operational support for the departments of Neurology and Neurosurgery users. Provide remote and hands-on support with excellent customer service skills. Maintain expertise in current desktop and network technologies, as well as wide range of systems, applications, and customized needs in support of Neuromedicine functions. This Neuromedicine IT team member will have significant responsibility for the positive outcome of IT infrastructure.
Under limited direction of department leadership, with considerable latitude for independent technical initiative, provide the following services:
20%: Assess, interpret and analyze customer technical problems received via multiple vectors. Utilize strong technical expertise to diagnose and resolve problems related to client technologies. Maintain working knowledge of wide range of Medical Center applications and technologies. Provide first and second level technical response to maintenance, urgent and emergency technical and application problems at on and off-site locations. Participate in 24/7 /365 on call rotation.
20%: Configures, installs, repairs, troubleshoots technology in support of Neurology/Neurosurgery. Determines appropriate, cost effective resolution and implements. Consults with customers to understand business issues and synthesizes appropriate solution based on best practice, procedure, and personal knowledge and experience.
20%: Provide general system and application administration to Neuromedicine specific server and client resources. Create system design and technology proposals for departmental projects and initiatives. Propose and support system activities related to administration, maintenance, and coordinate all activities with our partners in ISO and vendors where appropriate.
10%: Will serve as a consultant to project managers and customers to ensure appropriate functionality, cost effective, secure IT solutions. Serve as a project coordinator. Assist with application and hardware project management during upgrades and relocations. Under general guidance, develop project timelines and milestones; communicate with appropriate user base; set priorities and manage progression of project implementation.
10%: Will serve as a trainer to less experienced or new team members. Complex or delicate situations will be escalated to this team member to resolve directly or work with leadership if necessary to resolve.
10%: Serve as application expert for departmental applications and be able to troubleshoot and resolve issues. Working with customers, vendors and ISO as required.
5%: Keep abreast of current desktop and network technologies through continuing education, journal review, web searches, and formal seminar opportunities. Provide technical writing assistance with documentation.
5%: Act as "Operational Lead" in the absence of Neuromedicine IT manager as needed.
Other duties as assigned
Bachelor's degree in related discipline such as Computer Science, Business, Mathematics, Statistics, Science or Engineering; and 3-4 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Exceptional customer service skills, including outstanding oral and written communications required. Basic understanding of network technologies, including design, hardware, and protocols, as well as advanced problem solving skills required.
1-2 years in a supervisory capacity, Master’s degree also preferred. Advanced level of PC and Windows expertise and understanding (3-4 years hands on experience). Proficient in MACs and other IOS devices, handheld devices, and other peripheral devices required.
