FT position available, 40 hours, primarily days


This RN Care Manager position will support Behavioral Health Partners (BHP), Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and University Mental Health Practice. BHP is a mental health resource for the University of Rochester eligible employees, retirees, and adult dependents enrolled in a University Health Care Plan. UMHP provides specialty psychological and psychiatric care for individuals with chronic pain, and pre-procedure evaluations for a variety of services such as bariatric surgery. This position is responsible for the implementation of phone triage and psychosocial assistance for patients, participates in the planning and delivery of appropriate service linkages, and serves as liaison and advocate for patients and their families with identified service providers. The RN Care Manager will at times identify patients with additional needs and will in such cases provide the most appropriate initial and follow up interventions to complement what is already being provided by other members of the psychiatric team. General responsibilities at EAP include triaging crisis phone calls and requests for critical incident responses. This role also includes participating in events that promote BHP and EAP services. Detail oriented with strong organizational/prioritization skills and ability to work independently under general guidance. Ambulatory care and telephone triage experience preferred. NYS RN license in good standing, minimum 3 years of Psychiatric experience required, outpatient experience preferred.


Requires a Diploma, Associate or Bachelor's degree from an accredited Nursing Program and an active New York State RN license in good standing. Applicants will have a minimum of 3 years of RN experience. This position utilizes expert skill and knowledge to deliver nursing care, directs others, and assumes the role as a care coordinator or preceptor.
