University of Rochester Ambulatory Orthopaedics - Clinical Nurse Specialist/Clinical Nurse Leader/APRN - Level V in Rochester, New York
FT position available, primarily days, 8 hours shifts
Cllarge outpatient orthopaedic department. Must have a strong clinical base as well as an interest/background in quality assurance, quality improvement, orientation, and continuing education. Main areas of focus will be the orientation process for all staff, overall education/in-services, sterilization process standards (podiatry), point of use standards (ortho/podiatry), radiologic standards (ortho/podiatry), audits, casting compliance standards (including being trained in cast application), competency development and documentation. Will take an active role in assuring compliance with regulatory standards for all ambulatory orthopaedic & podiatry offices both at Clinton Crossings as well as other “off-site” locations. Must be self-directed with excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Requires a Master’s Degree; 3-5 years of experience required.
Requires a Master's Degree in Nursing or related field and an active New York State license in good standing. Applicants will have 5 years experience as an RN with one to three years of leadership experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. The Clinical Nurse Specialist influences the quality and delivery of care in various roles including consultant, researcher, mentor, and practitioner. This role may be unit, program, or service based and is involved in continuous quality improvement initiatives.
