Responsibilities

Position Summary:

Manage, lead, and guide key business initiatives utilizing URMC's standard project management methodology. Direct the work of other Project Managers assigned to business-critical projects and assures consistency in approach and achievement of targets and deadlines.

Monitors performance and recommends schedule changes, cost adjustments, or resource adjustments Ensures results meet requirements regarding quality, cost and delivery.

Responsibilities:

Manages department's strategic projects using a consistent methodology to coordinate activities, schedule resources. and ensure completion within scope and budget.

Ensures that a strong partnership exists with leaders, staff and faculty:

  • Responsible for effective interactions that result in a high degree of team/partner satisfaction

  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal, conflict resolution, negotiation, and communication skills

  • Provide a high degree of accessibility to project partners and executive leadership

Works closely with others across the organization (IT, Performance Improvement, Finance etc.) to assure consistent approaches, coordinated work efforts, and continuous improvement.

Evaluates vendors to support new projects and new models of care; coordinate review and contracting requirements with appropriate departments, including IT and Purchasing.

Routinely communicates progress to Executive Leadership and directly addresses barriers to success.

Program Operations

  • Assist Clinical Directors in monitoring operation of clinical programs

  • Participate in development and implementation of marketing plans

  • Assist in development, implementation, and monitoring of productivity standards

  • Coordinate requests for central information tracking

  • Participate in development of billing and registration systems and resolution of problems

  • Coordinate program moves

  • Obtain support services for program areas

  • Ensure Workflow efficiency across services

  • Resolve problems with support services across all program areas

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree and 5 years relevant experience including at least 2 years at a managerial level; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Master's degree, equivalent course work, or specialized experience in an appropriate field related to the assignment is desirable.

Preferred Qualifications

Lean or specialized experience in an appropriate field related to the assignment is desirable. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively network within and outside the University and the ability to develop detailed written proposals.
