Position Summary:

With limited direction and considerable latitude for independent judgment and decision-making, the Administrator provides high-level support to the Office of the Provost maintaining an effective, efficient, and professional office environment. The position is responsible for representing the Office of the Provost in a professional manner to a variety of internal and external constituents, including trustees, senior executives, deans, faculty, staff, students, alumni, community members, and the Office of the President. This position requires a person with sound judgment, professionalism, attention to detail, outstanding communication skills, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.


*Senior Administrative representative for Executive Members of the Provost Team *

Serves as the senior administrative coordinator to Vice Provost of Academic Affairs and Vice Provost for Research. These executives work closely with deans, vice presidents, and senior members of university administration along with external members of the community representing the Office of the Provost.

Collaborates with the Administrator to the Faculty Senate on all activities related to the Faculty Senate and Senate Executive Committee.

On behalf of the Provost Office answers correspondence and inquiries involving the interpretation of University policy regulations, and procedures.

This position will also have the responsibility of providing support to the Executive Assistant to the Provost to include but not limited to having in depth knowledge of all operational needs of the Office of the Provost and being capable of making decisions on behalf of the Provost Assistant. This will include direct interaction with the Board of Trustees, Office of the President and internal and external co and external meetings.

Collaborates with the Office of Budgets and Planning regarding the Provost Office suite daily operations.

Oversees logistics for office moves and manages office equipment

Serves as back up to Faculty Governance staffing needs to ensure appropriate coverage for activities such as Senate Executive Committee meetings, Faculty Committee meetings and all other related administrative responsibilities.

Manages and coordinates all aspects of event planning for the Office of the Provost. Event types will include, but are not limited to, advancement-related gatherings, recruitment events for administration, Dean and Faculty committee dinners, special receptions, administrative summits and seminars.

*Requirements: *

College degree or an equivalent combination of experience and training. 3 years of related work experience including at least 1 year in an administrative capacity in an academic office or project management, or the equivalent experience in business.

Prefer seven years or more of relevant office administration experience. Requires attention to detail, excellent professional and interpersonal skills, ability to interact effectively with senior administrators, faculty, staff, and students. Strong communications skills (verbal and written) and good organizational skills. High proficiency with Microsoft Office is required.
