Administrator I, PT- Office of the Faculty Senate
Part Time 20 hours Grade 052 Provost's Office
With limited direction and considerable latitude for independent judgement and decision-making, the Administrator will manage official records and support services for the Faculty Senate and various sub-committees. This position requires regular interaction with various constituencies of the University community, corporations and the public. The administrator will also be responsible for handling highly confidential and sensitive information, and will exercise independent judgment in managing a large volume of work in a timely and efficient manner.
The Administrator will solely manage the Office of the Faculty Senate by serving as the principal point of contact. The operational responsibilities of the position will include a wide variety of simple to complex assignments ensuring a highly productive and effective office.
The Administrator will need to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities and deliverables in a well-organized manner collaborating with a variety constituencies across the university. Some of those responsibilities will include, but not limited to, managing financial matters, conducting Faculty Senate elections, managing the Faculty Senate website, coordinating Faculty Handbook and Senate Charter updates, managing all meeting logistics, and facilitating mass communication to all faculty members.
College degree or an equivalent combination of experience and training. 3 years or more of related work experience including at least 1 year in an administrative capacity in an academic office or project management, or the equivalent experience in business.
The job requires excellent professional and interpersonal skills, ability to interact effectively with senior administrators, faculty, staff, and students. Superior communications skills (verbal and written) and good organizational skills. High proficiency with Microsoft Office is required.
