Responsibilities

Position Summary:

Serves as research administrator for select group of department Principal Investigators (PIs). Manage fiscal resources, prepare budgets, conduct program planning and analysis, provide financial forecasts ad process and necessary Human resources forms. Attain CLASP certification, maintain by meeting continuous learning requirements.

Subscribes to the Department's goal of creating a culturally competent environment by treating patients/families, trainees, research subjects and coworkers in a sensitive and caring manner with appropriate attention to cultural differences. Participates in available cultural competence events and training.

Responsibilities:

Fiscal Management

  • Develops budgets and manage revenue/expenses within research operations.

  • Analyze, estimate and forecast staffing, sub-awards and other program expenditures

  • Review and authorize expenses.

  • Participate in development, initiation and monitoring of business plans and grant applications.

  • Financial reporting, creation of reports and interpretation of data related to revenue/expense projects, data interpretation.

  • Identify financial problems and initiate corrective action.

Personnel

  • Responsible for development of faculty and staff distributions, prepare staffing requests/postings.

  • Interpretation and communication of UR and Psychiatry personnel policy and procedures, initiate extra compensation requests

  • Facilitate hiring of students Program

Operations

  • Monitor operation of programs, review and analyze financial reports related to fiscal performance, communicate results to Sr. Research Administrator and PIs, initiate planning and problem resolution.

  • Serve as liaison for PIs and their staff with HR, Accounts Payable, ORPA, ORACS and study sponsors.

  • Determine need for equipment, space and other faculty and service related issues.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree and 3 years of experience in an administrative capacity or equivalent combination of education and experience.
