41600, Adult Cardiac Progressive Care Unit - Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant
FT position available, primarily days and early evenings, weekends 1/month and holidays as required.
Exciting opportunity to work in a well-established practice as part of a collaborative team providing care to patients within the Division of Cardiac Surgery and Vascular Surgery. This unit provides both pre and postoperative surgical care to patients of the Cardiovascular Service Line. Provide direct care, assessment, evaluation, intervention and plan for ongoing care of this patient population including wound care, surgical follow up and knowledge of arrhythmia management. In addition to direct patient care activities, it is required to provide educational opportunities for the staff in a mentoring capacity working with the unit leadership. Familiarity with core measures and performance improvement commitment is required. Excellent organizational, communication skills, and customer service behaviors are required. NYS licensed, Master’s degree required, ACNP preferred. Nationally certified or eligible for certification required.
Requires a Master's Degree in Nursing or related field and an active New York State license in good standing. Applicants will have 5 years experience as an RN with one to three years of leadership experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. The Nurse Practitioner influences the quality and delivery of care in various roles including consultant, researcher, mentor, and practitioner. This role may be unit, program, or service based and is involved in continuous quality improvement initiatives.
Completion of an AMA approved Physician Assistant program, licensure in good standing, and certified as a Registered Physician Assistant. Demonstrated clinical competence, superior verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal effectiveness and customer relation skills, computer competence and must have an active desire to learn. This role may be unit, program, or service based and is involved in continuous quality improvement initiatives.
