*Position Summary: *
Work part-time on a school-based project focused on 1) building resiliency, 2) reducing STD’s, and 3) providing breakfast in the classroom. Specific duties include: Participate in the development and distribution of educational materials to students and parents; develop systems to track intervention delivery; distribute and collect surveys; participate in qualitative interviews/focus groups, and developing and managing databases. Assist with annual and semi-annual screening which may include explaining procedures, answering questions, and providing informed consent. Maintain study documentation and develop and maintain databases, as well as enter, organize, and verify study data. Will communicate with and travel to East Lower School. Demonstrates ICARE* values in each of the major responsibilities.
- Data collection, data entry, and data maintenance. Assist in the development of data collection tools and collect data from surveys, interviews and focus groups. Transcribe qualitative data and assist with analysis. Verify study related information and review subject records to ensure complete and accurate data. Enter data into database. Conduct data cleaning procedures. Learn how to use RedCap, SPSS, and other database software and assist with additions to database, edits, and general maintenance. Run simple reports from database.
- Assist with overall project implementation and administration. Coordinate logistics for focus group meetings and create agenda and minutes for administrative team meetings. Assist with outreach/marketing efforts to East staff, students, and parents to develop individualized interventions that are well accepted. Assist with recruitment and enrollment efforts for the School-Based Health Center.
Requires one year of relevant post-high school education or equivalent and one-two years of related experience. Prefer Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree with major course work in social or health related field. Must have reliable/efficient transportation to travel between work sites.
Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbally and in writing. Must be flexible, empathetic, and able to engage effectively with diverse populations. Ability to work independently and demonstrate efficiency in prioritizing assignments, as well as skill in proactively and independently resolving problems in the field, and recommending/implementing continuous quality improvements. High level organizational and planning skills a must. Possess good knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Experience with SPSS and RedCap is desirable but not necessary.
