University of Rochester Research Asst Professor in Rochester, New York
The division of Glial Disease & Therapeutics, within the Center for Translational Neuromedicine, is looking for a Research Assistant Professor whose interests are principally in research and who provides special areas of expertise required for complex, collaborative research programs.
This position will focus specifically on studying cultured astrocytes as well as in vivo astrocytic imaging experiments. He/she will use their expertise to develop a better understanding of astrocytes in the sleep-wake cycle and how pathological changes in astrocytes after traumatic brain injury in turn affect neural activity.
Successful candidates will have a 5 or more years in relevant postdoctoral study as well as a strong publication record. A Ph.D. and/or M.D. is required.
