8 AM-4:30 PM; WKENDS AS NEEDED
The mental health therapist who occupies this position provides clinical services in various components of the Partial Hospital Services. Priority assignment will be to lead therapeutic groups with the co-occurring disorders population in the program, although other responsibilities include completion of intakes and coverage of the primary therapist role during programmatic need. This involves performing a broad range of functions with the full spectrum of the population served. He/she will lead therapeutic groups; complete psychosocial and family assessments,; participate in a multi-disciplinary team using individual, family, or group modalities in support of the patient’s treatment or discharge plan. This clinician will be co-credentialed as a CASAC, and will provide the interdisciplinary team with consultation on substance abuse treatment issues.
Master’s degree from a Counsel for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Education Programs (CACREP) accredited program with major course work in mental health counseling. Requires NYS licensure as a mental health practitioner (e.g., Mental Health Counselor, Creative Arts Therapist) or limited permit eligible. If licensure has not been obtained upon employment, the individual has 36 months to obtain the NYS license.
Credentialed Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) is required. Group facilitation experience is required.
