Responsibilities

THIS POSITION HAS AN END DATE OF 10/31/18.

General Purpose:

To provide data and analytical support to the Principal Investigator. This person will be required to work independently, but under the guidance of the Principal Investigator, on the tasks described below.

This position requires the ability to utilize research methodologies and strategies in gathering, processing, and analyzing research data, and will be responsible for making recommendations regarding implementation procedures in order to more accurately capture the data.

Essential Tasks:

Abstract data from e-records and Holter monitor. This task also involves the ability to independently make coding decisions when data are missing, or data are incomplete, etc. and resolve problems with data gathering personal. This person is also responsible for recommending revisions to the procedures in order to more accurately capture the desired data.

Check research data for completeness and be sure values are in acceptable ranges.

For each data gathering method, perform logic checks and conduct basic checks of research data, such as frequency distributions, means and standard deviations. This will involve evaluating the output for outliers, out of range data, etc. and making a determination how to resolve those problems.

Perform literature searches, assist with poster presentations and organization of research data.

Qualifications:

Associate's degree in appropriate discipline plus 4-5 years specialized experience in related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Prefer Bachelor’s degree with major course work in medical or technical field, and 1-2 years’ experience in the analysis and dissemination of information; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
