Provides highly complex analysis of financial data and accurate, up-to-date financial information to Department Chair, Program Administrator, and Director of Finance to support the successful financial management of the Department of Anesthesiology.
Assists Program Administrator and Director of Finance in developing and monitoring budget and fiscal performance and recommends corrective action where appropriate. Develops revenue and expenditure forecasts and targets based on program planning data. Performs professional accounting work including review of financial data, analyses and tests to ascertain data integrity, preparation of routine and special reports. Prepares monthly cash reconciliation according to guidelines established by URMFG.
Develops and maintains a financial modeling system for routine financial reporting. Performs financial analyses and prepares reports, such as monthly Department financial reports, for the Chair, Program Administrator and Director of Finance. Makes presentations on areas of research and analysis. Prepares conclusions, forecasts and makes recommendations based on research. Analyses and interprets data, statistics and financial information and identifies significant differences in relationships among sources of information.
Compiles data and prepares quarterly productivity and clinical incentive reports based on complex compensation models for faculty at both Highland and Strong Memorial Hospital.
Evaluates new programs for financial feasibility and existing programs for continued financial viability. Provides financial information to support new initiatives and requests hospital support of new programs.
Proposes guidelines, policies and procedures for distribution of expenses in Anesthesiology. Assumes responsibility for controlling expenses and property. Approves invoices and requisitions.
Keeps abreast of trends as they relate to financial management and adapts new developments into planning control and analytical processes. Assists with special projects as assigned. Assumes responsibility for the project, establishes time tables, activity plans and coordinates the efforts of any subordinate staff.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration and 4 years related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Master’s degree and hospital accounting experience preferred.
