General Purpose:

Responsible for managing all aspects of the eRecord foundation as it pertains to the eRecord cross ecosystem components. This includes system health/stability, implementation, maintenance activities, and project management including technical components, infrastructure, and the liaison between clinical and technical components. Participates in eRecord strategic technical planning. Acts as a central point of communication for cross component management and provides updates to directors.

Specific Responsibilities:

Under the general direction and with considerable latitude for the exercise of independent judgement and initiative:

  • Primary coordinator for large foundation/integration issues (e.g. Foundation refuels), including setting up timelines, following up on progress that teams have made to ensure solutions are established in a timely manner, and coordinating appropriate resources to manage issues. These foundational components include but are not limited to master file coordination activities, data courier oversight, system-wide change control coordination (production control), and environment management.
  • Identifies new technologies, methodologies, and applications to resolves issues and meet growing demands for the eRecord ecosystem. Directs, designs, coordinates, and oversees the project’s return on investment analysis and maintains efficient cost effective deployment of information systems. Formulates and prepares project plans with activities, dependencies, dates and timeframes, resource requirements, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Contributes to implementation of eRecord applications go-lives and keeps current on eRecord software updates (SU cycles) as coordinated by Environment Manager. Keeps current on all eRecord maintenance and downtimes and oversees eRecord major releases upgrades. Knowledgeable on Technical Release Authorizations process from Epic, including preparation, approval, and implementation. Provides guidance and support to application coordinators to manage their technical requirements and requests.
  • Maintains a continued and close relationship with the IT infrastructure team. Uses knowledge and feedback gained from these relationships to enhance the implementation and technology activities of the project. As a member of the core eRecord Project Management Office program, participates in business continuity, strategic planning, and process development, as well as eRecord strategic and technical planning. Attends PMO-level meetings.


Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience; graduate degree preferred. . 4-5 years management-level experience. Technical experience in a healthcare setting, preferably within HH or SMH. Strong attention to detail, critical thinking skills, and the ability to develop creative solutions to complex problems. Ability to lead meetings, prioritize, resolve conflicts, maintain ‘issues’ lists, and work to a project plan. Strong communication and follow-up skills. Detail-oriented and a knack for probing for information to fully understand the underlying needs of the organization and user community.
