Responsibilities

Provides electrical engineering support for the Medical Center’s operations & maintenance activities that include design, construction, renovation, and maintenance.

Provides preliminary investigations into electrical systems or construction issues that will impact either the project or long term equipment/system performance. Provides leadership, technical insight. Advises and assists with problems involving electrical systems.

Investigates equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operation. Makes corrective recommendations to maintenance O&M; staff. Develops project scope, specifications, drawings, and construction documents based on recommendations in correcting identified mechanical problems.

Serves as an engineering representative for support and liaison to the O&M;, construction/renovation, and PPM groups. Represents the department in the project design review process, field inspections and commissioning to assure that University standards, codes and project specifications are satisfied.

Provides engineering technical support to Medical Center Site which includes code compliance, infection prevention, life safety requirements and environmental care issues. Prepares reports and analyses setting forth progress, adverse trends and appropriate recommendations or conclusions with assigned projects.

Evaluate new technologies for Medical center Facilities which will potentially provide cost savings, energy usage reductions and improvement in infection prevention programs. Stays updated on new and evolving technology by participating in continuous education programs and seminars.

Qualifications:

Bachelors of Science degree in Electrical Engineering discipline and 6 years of experience. Master’s preferred. Eligible for NYS Electrical Engineer license.
