Responsibilities

General Purpose:

The Value Analysis Director will lead a cross functional team responsible for providing a systematic assessment and approval for the evaluation and acquisition of products, equipment, and technology resulting in the selection of the "highest-valued" supplies and services to be used in fulfilling the University of Rochester's and Affiliate's mission. The System Value Analysis Director will support optimization of patient care, safety, physician satisfaction, and supply chain performance through the oversight of product, service, equipment and technology reviews, evaluations, selections, and implementation process.

Specific Responsibilities:

Under executive guidance and policy, leads the establishment and ongoing facilitation of a structured system wide interdisciplinary value analysis process for products, services, equipment and technology to support the alignment of system objectives, strategic goals, and control of system spend.

Collaborates with Supply Chain and key stakeholders, both clinical & non-clinical staff, in the identification of substitute products to ensure acceptable medical/surgical supplies are available at all times.

Develops and leads cross functional teams involved in the investigation and evaluation of new and/or existing medical/surgical products.

Provides research/benchmarks, develops and executes project timelines, document decision-making results and facilitate preparation of needed financial analytics.

Communicates analysis to all appropriate stakeholders and reports on various metrics to measure the success of decisions reached utilizing value analysis processes.

Develops system supply standardization process and evaluations with key stakeholders throughout the UR System.

Develops processes for the introduction of new clinical and non-clinical products into the UR system.

Provides leadership in the facilitation of system standardization teams to decrease product use variation and costs through the development of consensus supply utilization programs and initiatives.

Provides consultation and leadership throughout the UR System in the procurement and use of medical/non-medical products, including surgical supplies.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree with course work or concentration in healthcare, business or related field; 7 years of experience in a clinical setting and/or supply chain; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Master's degree preferred. Previous management experience highly preferred.
