Faculty job description: The Department of Radiation Oncology at the Wilmot Cancer Institute of the University of Rochester Medical Center (URMC) seeks qualified candidates for a leadership position – Director of Medical Physics – at the Associate Professor academic rank level. The Director of Medical Physics will oversee the performance and quality assurance of the clinical physics operations and research activities in Medical Physics, as well as in clinical trials. Responsibilities include supervision of clinical QA treatment planning, special procedures, and technical support for a range of advanced treatment procedures. The Director should have strong communication skills, interpersonal and interdisciplinary relationship-building (budgeting, cost containment, staffing assessment, process improvement.
Qualifications: A Ph.D. degree in the area of Radiotherapy Physics with a minimum of 10 years clinical experience is required; Board Certification by the American Board of Radiology or equivalent; New York State licensure in therapy medical physics.
Post-offer health assessment is required.
