This position involves an active HIV/AIDS translational research group with emphasis on pathogenesis, host response and vaccine development. Successful applicants will become key contributors to the work of the NIAID-supported HIV/AIDS Clinical Trials Unit (CTU) that has been a member of the AIDS Clinical Trials Group (ACTG) and HIV Vaccine Trials Network (HVTN) since 1986 and 1987, respectively, with opportunities to assume CTU leadership roles in the future. Candidates are also encouraged to develop independent, externally funded research programs that complement the work of the CTU.
Individuals holding an M.D. degree with subspecialty training in Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases, and with interest and experience in clinical and translational research related to HIV are invited to apply. Training and Board certification in Infectious Diseases is encouraged, but not required for this position.
