University of Rochester Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor - Tenure Stream in Rochester, New York
The Center for Oral Biology, Eastman Institute for Oral Health in the School of Medicine & Dentistry at the University of Rochester is seeking a scientist to fill a tenure track position as Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor. The candidate will conduct research in one of the following disciplines, related to oral biology: developmental genetics, stem cell and cancer biology, tissue engineering and repair, bacterial physiology/pathogenesis, regulation of mammalian gene expression, protein/glycoprotein interactions, or exocrine cell signaling/differentiation.
The successful candidate is expected to demonstrate evidence of a strong commitment to research, as well as independent research productivity, as exemplified by a strong record of peer-reviewed publications.
Candidate is expected to have a PhD, DDS/PhD or MD/PhD degree(s).
Candidate is expected to have experience commensurate with rank.
Candidate must be proficient in English with proven ability to write scientific documents.
Candidate should have a strong publication record as a first and as senior author of peer-reviewed articles.
Candidate will have a strong record of NIH (or equivalent) funding of research.
Candidate should be skilled in modern molecular and/or cellular techniques.
A post-offer health assessment is required.
Candidate must be eligible to work in the United States.
Expertise in one or more of the following areas is essential: developmental genetics, stem cell and cancer biology, tissue engineering and repair, bacterial physiology/pathogenesis, regulation of mammalian gene expression, protein/glycoprotein interactions, and exocrine cell signaling/differentiation.
Expertise or interest in model systems is desirable.
Candidate is expected to hold current extramural funding for research.
Candidate will be expected to supervise graduate and post-doctoral research projects.
Candidate is also expected to assist in teaching at the graduate level and in the Center for Oral Biology’s educational mission.
Candidate is expected to serve on Center and URMC committees regarding research and education goals of the institution.
