Responsibilities

POSITION SUMMARY

The University of Rochester is recruiting an Analyst/Programmer to work in University Information Technology. This person will work on the maintenance, development, testing, implementation, and security of applications supporting student administrative business processes primarily in a distributed computing environment.

DUTIES

Provide programming support for changes to, and maintenance of, existing application programs.

Coordinate, perform and document application testing in response to infrastructure upgrades and changes

Investigate and resolve Tier III application issues in conjunction with Production Control, the Resolution Based Help Desk, and end users. Provide on-call support as required.

Create data sets as necessary to support business unit analysis.

Participate in the creation of the functional specification under the direction of more senior applications development staff.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in a related discipline and 2 to 3 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Demonstrated programming experience in JAVA, NET, UNIX, SQL preferred, and experience working in a UNIX, Windows, SQL Server, Oracle, Tomcat, and Apache environment desirable.
